Councilman Longo was a member of the Belleville Board of Education from 2008-2014. A graduate of Belleville High School, he went on to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps. and is presently a sales executive for a local printing company.
He has been married to his wife Maria for nearly 30 years and has two children; both are Belleville High School graduates. His son Joseph served eight years in the U.S. Marine Corps and is a decorated Iraq War veteran. His daughter Natalie is a graduate of William Paterson University and is an insurance industry professional.
He is the Past Commandant of the West Hudson Detachment of the Marine Corps League. He coached Belleville Recreation Soccer and softball. He was president of the Belleville High School Music Boosters Assn., which contributed to the success of the State Championship Belleville High School Marching Band and was president of the Belleville Visual and Performing Arts Council and the Belleville Vocational Education Council.
